1. Our commitment
Family Bridge Jamaica believes people with disabilities should be able to access information, make enquiries and understand available services with dignity and independence. We work to identify and reduce technological and communication barriers on the public website and in our service interactions.
Our current web-development target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This statement describes our ongoing approach; it is not a claim that every page or third-party service is perfectly conformant in every circumstance.
2. Accessibility practices used on this website
Family Bridge's public website is designed with accessibility considerations that include:
- semantic page structure and descriptive headings;
- a skip link for keyboard users;
- keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive controls;
- visible focus states;
- labels and instructions for form controls;
- clear validation and error messaging;
- text and interface contrast designed for readability;
- responsive layouts that adapt to different screen sizes and zoom levels;
- alternative text for meaningful images; and
- interfaces that do not rely on colour alone to communicate essential meaning.
3. Assistance using Family Bridge services
If a disability or access need makes the website, a form or a usual communication method difficult to use, contact Family Bridge and explain the assistance you need. Where reasonably practicable, we will work with you to provide the same information or an appropriate alternative way to make an enquiry or communicate about a service.
Accessibility assistance does not change Family Bridge's service boundaries. Medical, nursing, personal-care or other services that require a licensed, certified or regulated professional remain outside Family Bridge's scope, but we may be able to help identify or coordinate an appropriate independent provider.
4. Third-party services and content
Some interactions may involve third-party platforms or independent providers, such as email, Google Calendar, Google Meet, WhatsApp or external providers introduced at a client's request. Family Bridge does not control every accessibility feature of those third parties, but we welcome notice when a third-party barrier affects your ability to interact with us so that we can consider an alternative where reasonably practicable.
5. Accessibility feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on familybridgeja.com, please tell us what page or feature caused difficulty, what device or assistive technology you were using if you are comfortable sharing it, and what you were trying to accomplish. This information helps us investigate and improve the experience.
Please contact Family Bridge Jamaica and mention Accessibility Feedback in your enquiry. We will acknowledge accessibility feedback as soon as reasonably practicable and work to assess appropriate remediation or an alternative means of access.
6. Ongoing improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. Family Bridge will continue reviewing public pages, forms and important user journeys as the website evolves and will update this statement when material accessibility practices or known limitations change.
