1. About these Terms
These Website & Service Terms apply to familybridgeja.com and to enquiries, introductory calls and services provided by Family Bridge Jamaica, operated by Veronica Allen-Ettinger. By using the website or asking Family Bridge to provide assistance, you agree to these Terms as applicable to that interaction.
Additional written details may be agreed for a specific service, membership, quotation, authorization or purchase. If a specific written service agreement conflicts with these general Terms, the specific agreement controls for that service to the extent of the conflict.
2. Enquiries do not create a service engagement
Submitting a general enquiry, requesting or scheduling an introductory call, discussing a possible service, or receiving preliminary availability information does not mean Family Bridge has accepted or confirmed the requested service.
A service is accepted only after Family Bridge has reviewed suitability, scope, authorization, location, timing, availability and applicable charges and has communicated confirmation of the arrangement.
3. Nature and scope of Family Bridge services
Family Bridge provides practical concierge assistance, local coordination, companionship, suitable errands, accompaniment, authorized purchasing assistance, practical visits and related non-regulated support within an agreed scope.
Each request must have a defined purpose and reasonable boundaries. Family Bridge may decline, pause or refer a request that is unsafe, unlawful, outside its competence, requires a regulated provider, lacks appropriate authorization, or cannot be supported responsibly.
4. Transportation is incidental to concierge service
Family Bridge Jamaica is not a public passenger vehicle (PPV) operator, taxi service, hackney carriage, carriage-for-hire business, chauffeur-for-hire service or other transportation service offered to the public.
Where transportation is appropriate, it may be provided only as an incidental and integrated part of an accepted Family Bridge concierge service—for example, while accompanying a client to an appointment or carrying out an agreed task. Transportation is not offered, booked, priced or supplied as a standalone passenger-transport service.
Where a client needs dedicated passenger transportation, airport transfer, touring, taxi, charter or another carriage-for-hire service, Family Bridge may help identify or coordinate an appropriately licensed independent provider. Such providers operate independently and are responsible for their own licensing, insurance, vehicles, drivers, pricing and service terms.
5. No medical, nursing, home-care or regulated personal-care services
Family Bridge is not a medical, nursing, home-health, personal-care, domestic-cleaning or clinical-care provider. Medical or home-care assistance is not part of a Family Bridge service agreement and is not offered, considered, implied or represented as a Family Bridge service.
Family Bridge does not administer medication, supervise or assist with medication consumption, provide medical monitoring, diagnose or treat conditions, bathe or toilet a person, provide hands-on personal care, perform house cleaning, nursing, physiotherapy or other clinical care, or perform any task that requires a licensed, certified or otherwise regulated professional.
Family Bridge may, within an agreed concierge scope, accompany a person to a non-emergency appointment, collect an authorized prescription or item where legally and practically appropriate, help schedule an appointment, communicate logistics, or help identify an independent medical, dental, home-care, cleaning or other qualified provider. Those actions do not make Family Bridge the professional provider and do not transfer the provider's professional responsibilities to Family Bridge.
6. Not an emergency service
Family Bridge is not a substitute for police, fire, ambulance, emergency medical care or another emergency-response service. Do not use Family Bridge as the primary contact for an immediate threat to life, safety or health.
If an urgent situation becomes apparent while carrying out an agreed service, Family Bridge may contact appropriate emergency services, an authorized family contact or another appropriate person based on the circumstances. Family Bridge does not guarantee emergency monitoring or continuous supervision.
7. Authority, consent and information about others
You must provide accurate information and must have appropriate authority for instructions you give Family Bridge. A person requesting assistance for another individual may not authorize Family Bridge to override that individual's lawful choices, consent, privacy or property rights.
Family Bridge may require confirmation from the service recipient, property owner, authorized family representative or other appropriate person before entering property, collecting items, making purchases, receiving information or acting on sensitive instructions.
8. Purchases, money and third-party costs
Any purchase or expenditure by Family Bridge must be specifically authorized and subject to agreed limits. Family Bridge does not accept unrestricted access to bank accounts, cards, online banking credentials, cash reserves or other client finances and does not operate as a remittance or money-transfer service.
Third-party charges, purchases, admission fees, professional fees, transportation-provider charges and similar external costs are separate from Family Bridge's own service charges unless expressly stated otherwise. Receipts or other reasonable documentation will be maintained where applicable.
Client-funded purchases and third-party costs must be funded in advance. If the actual external cost exceeds the client funds already received, Family Bridge will pause that expenditure, notify the client and obtain any required additional spending authorization and payment before incurring the expense. Family Bridge and its Facilitators are not expected to use personal or company funds and seek reimbursement afterward.
9. Independent third-party providers
Family Bridge may help research, contact, coordinate or introduce independent providers such as licensed private drivers or tour operators, contractors, tradespeople, medical or dental providers, cleaners and other local resources.
Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, those providers are not employees, agents or subcontractors of Family Bridge. They control their own services and are responsible for their credentials, licences, insurance, availability, pricing, workmanship, professional judgment and contractual obligations. Clients should confirm those matters directly before engaging a provider.
10. Pricing, payment and changes to scope
Applicable charges are confirmed before an accepted service begins. Pricing may depend on time, distance, complexity, service area, third-party costs and the agreed service model. À-la-carte work may require prepayment; membership arrangements follow the applicable agreed terms.
If instructions or circumstances materially change after a service is confirmed, Family Bridge may pause work and obtain approval for a revised scope, schedule or charge before continuing.
11. Scheduling, delays and cancellations
Family Bridge will make reasonable efforts to perform accepted services at the agreed time, but timing can be affected by traffic, weather, third-party delays, appointment changes, emergencies and other circumstances outside reasonable control. Material changes will be communicated when practicable.
Cancellation, rescheduling, refund or credit arrangements may depend on the specific service, notice provided, work already performed and non-refundable third-party costs. Any service-specific cancellation terms communicated at booking or confirmation form part of the applicable agreement.
12. Communications
By providing contact details and requesting contact, you authorize Family Bridge to communicate with you through the method reasonably connected with your request, which may include email, telephone or WhatsApp. Electronic communications can be delayed, misdirected or accessed on devices outside Family Bridge's control, so highly sensitive information should not be sent through ordinary messaging unless specifically requested and appropriate.
13. Website use and intellectual property
The website is provided for lawful informational and service-enquiry purposes. You must not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit fraudulent or harmful requests, impersonate another person, or use the website in violation of applicable law.
Unless otherwise identified, Family Bridge website text, branding, layout and original materials are owned by or used with permission by Family Bridge Jamaica and may not be reproduced commercially without permission.
14. Responsibility and reasonable limitations
Family Bridge will use reasonable care in carrying out accepted services within the confirmed scope. Outcomes that depend on third parties, government agencies, appointment availability, road conditions, property conditions or other matters outside Family Bridge's reasonable control cannot be guaranteed.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit a right or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable Jamaican law. Any responsibility of Family Bridge will be considered in light of the agreed scope, the information and authority provided, the nature of the service, and applicable law.
15. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Family Bridge may update them as services, operating practices or legal requirements change. The effective and last-updated dates on this page identify the current published version.
